Marchio Storico: Minotti Recognised as a Historic Brand of Italian National Interest

Marchio Storico

We’re delighted to announce that Minotti has been recognised with the honour of being included in the Special Register of Historic Brands of National Interest – established by MISE (Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico), the Ministry of Economic Development – which promotes Made in Italy excellence.

The MISE recognises that the business has been registered for at least fifty years and that it’s historically linked to the territory.

Minotti’s identity is deeply rooted in its family heritage, its tradition in the world of upholstery, and its enduring connection to the Brianza region. Over the decades, these elements have shaped the brand’s distinctive character and solidified its position in the design world.

Founded in 1948 by Alberto Minotti, the company began as a small upholstery workshop. It later embarked on a journey of significant growth and international expansion under the leadership of his sons, Renato and Roberto Minotti.

Today, the third generation—Alessio, Alessandro, Susanna, and Leonardo—carries forward this legacy. They have embraced the challenges of the digital age and a multicultural world, ensuring the brand’s continued evolution and global recognition.

A pivotal moment in Minotti’s history came in 1997 with the collaboration with architect Rodolfo Dordoni. Appointed Art Director and Coordinator of the company’s collections from the initial projects in 1997 to 2023 – the year of the Milanese architect and designer’s premature passing

The company further expanded its design approach in 2018, collaborating with internationally renowned architects and designers from Christophe Delcourt, Nendo, Marcio Kogan / Studio MK27, GamFratesi and Inoda+Sveje up to Hannes Peer and Giampiero Tagliaferri.

We are proud to have achieved this important milestone, for our whole family and for our network; it proves our constant commitment in the world of contemporary design, in pursuit of excellence, creativity and authenticity. Our grateful thoughts go to our father, because without his vision the company would not exist today, to our mother, who has always supported us, and to our children, who have inherited our same passion for this company” remark Renato and Roberto Minotti, Co-CEOs of Minotti.

This recognition underscores Minotti’s pivotal role as a global ambassador of Made in Italy excellence. With a presence in 80 countries, more than 60 flagship stores, and a network of over 300 authorised distributors, Minotti continues to tell its story through timeless furniture collections.

Characterised by an unmistakable couture spirit, these designs cater to a variety of spaces, from residential and hospitality to professional environments. Crafted for both indoor and outdoor settings, Minotti’s creations address the evolving needs of contemporary living, blending innovation, elegance, and authenticity.
